Stardew Valley is a game known for its cosy homegrown feel, with complex, well-written characters populating a little village trying to scrape by under the looming shadow of a mega-corporation. So obviously, an AI company made a mod that scrapes out their personalities and replaces them with a large language model, with the appetising sales pitch: “By default, there are 33 provided brains.”
InworldAI promises to “craft characters with distinct personalities and contextual awareness that stay in-world or on brand.” Watching Pelican Town’s civilians rattle off lines of inoffensive text, however, feels like I’ve stumbled into some alternate JojaMart bad ending, where all the textured characters of Stardew Valley have been body-snatched by clones.
Stardew Valley works well becau…

I rushed into Wordle today on pure instinct alone, and felt a wave of dread wash over me as my thoughtless effort returned four greys and a single green. Well, no turning back now. Valve’s been hard at work on upgrades to the Steam client recently, and that means testing those upgrades before they roll out and break your launcher. Normal stuff, right? Anyway, to that end they need more people to test it, so they’re asking for that—and making it easier to do so, with a new one-click opt-in to testing.
“We’re introducing a one-click opt-in, to make it easy for you to try out all the new features and provide feedback. Once the features ship to everyone on Steam, your client will be updated to the latest public version available,” said Valve in an announcement.
Steam’s big public beta includes a revamped game overlay and notifications system. One system lets you use a whole new notes app, which you can use to record info about your game that’ll …

Read moreLike many websites, we publish a daily hint and answer for Wordle. We do this because every single day Wordle players search for a hint and answer to that day’s Wordle puzzle. To be blunt about it: a lot of people cheat at Wordle.
But I don’t think people cheat just so they don’t have to do the puzzle themselves—what would even be the point of playing Wordle every day if you were just going to look up the answer? I’m pretty sure that when people cheat at Wordle it’s just to maintain their streaks. Wordle keeps track of how many times you’ve played, what percentage of games you’ve won, along with your current streak. If you miss one, that streak is reset to zero, which can be a pretty big blow if you’re gone for weeks or even months without missing a single word.
Hades 2 is finally out in early access on Steam and the Epic Games Store and its developer, Supergiant Games, says it’s already more substantial than the first game.
“Hades 2 in early access already has more environments, foes, and fully-voiced characters than the full version of the original Hades game,” the Hades 2 Steam page FAQ reads. “But it isn’t complete, and key areas, characters, foes, narrative events, and systems are still to come.”
Supergiant says it’s been working on the roguelike action RPG for three years and wanted the game to be “far enough along that as many players as possible could have a good experience right away, yet not far enough along that it’s too late in development for us to act on the feedback we receive.”
That checks out from the 10…
