MSI’s 4K 240Hz monster is one of the best OLED gaming deals right now for $899-

They’ve been a long time coming. But the hot new generation of 4K gaming OLEDs have finally arrived. And the new MSI MAG 321UPX is easily the cheapest of the bunch.

At $899 from Newegg, it’s miles cheaper than the $1,299 Asus ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM that we reviewed recently and that uses exactly the same 32-inch Samsung QD-OLED panel and has virtually identical specs across the board.

So, what exactly are those specs? We’re talking 32 inches of Samsung QD-OLED glory, 3,840 by 2,160 pixels, 240Hz refresh and 0.03ms response. Yum.

The result, on that Asus at least, is a gaming monitor that takes a decisive step towards perfection. You’ve now got the killer combination of super-tight 4K pixel density with that signature OLED per-pixel lighting and stellar contrast.…

Electronic Arts is laying off 5% of its workforce-

Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson announced today that the company is “advancing the way we work and continuing to evolve our business,” and by that he means it will be laying off approximately 5% of its workforce.

Wilson’s message begins with a triumphant note about how EA is “entertaining, inspiring, and connecting more people with more content and deeper experiences than ever before.” He goes on to say that previous restructuring efforts at EA, specifically leadership changes announced in 2023, “have positioned us to build bigger, bolder experiences for hundreds of millions of players and fans around the world.”

Then he really kicks it into gear: “As a company full of creators and storytellers, we believe in the value of teams innovating together, and continue to learn an…

Players collectively spent over 7000 years in Diablo 4 in its two beta weekends-

Diablo 4 concluded its second and final beta period last weekend, and the numbers are in. The two beta weekends—which ran from March 17 to March 20 and March 24 to March 27—made up the largest beta in Diablo history, with over 2.6 million players hitting level 20 and earning themselves a coveted wolf puppy backpack.

Players managed to collectively spend 61.5 million hours in Diablo 4 over the course of the beta, an amount of time equal to over 7000 calendar years. That’s, uh, that’s too much time. If we bottled all that time up to use however we liked, we’d be able to travel back to the construction of the pyramids and still have 2000 or so years to spare. Diablo is too powerful, and must be stopped.

But there are plenty of other enormous numbers to distract us f…

This Nextorage 1TB Gen4 NVMe packs a mighty Phison punch for very little cash-

What’s in a name? While we wouldn’t blame you for relying on the tried and trusted heavyweight names in PC hardware when picking out components for your next upgrade, sometimes it’s worth giving the new kids on the block a once over, just in case they have something interesting going on under the hood. Sometimes great deals on great components are to be found simply by doing a little digging past the name on the box.

Case in point: The Nextorage Japan 1TB Gen 4 NVMe SSD. We wouldn’t blame you if the name looks unfamiliar, as Nextorage has only been a name in the hardware industry since 2019 when it was created by Sony to build SSDs for the PlayStation 5. However, once Phison took a controlling stake in the company and imbued its latest drives with the mighty Phison E18 controller,…

The Sims 4 latest patch notes open the doors to polyamorous relationships and a life free of jealousy

One of the new base game features in The Sims 4 called Romantic Boundaries is attempting to mimic real relationships that are “nuanced and complex” by letting players tweak their Sims’ preferences around exclusivity and jealousy.

Arriving in the upcoming Lovestruck expansion. “[You can] define the conditions under which your Sims become jealous,” according to the patch notes. “These live in Create-A-Sim alongside the Gender and Sexual Orientation options in the Identity Panel, and you can change them at any point in time.”

There are different levels of jealousy that you can assign to Sims now: getting jealous at non-physical romance, physical romance, “WooHoo”, or if you don’t want to have to deal with all that emotional mess, you can change it so that they won’t get jealo…

This Frostpunk 2 RX 7700 XT from Sapphire is a promotional card that actually captures the game’s vibe-

Frostpunk 2 is set to launch on July 25, 2024, and ahead of it arrives this specially designed RX 7700 XT from Sapphire.

I just caught a peek of this card ahead of release at Computex and I’m way more into it than I thought I’d be. At first, I thought it to be your fairly standard promotional card—more or less just the game’s promotional materials printed on the backplate. But it’s not that.

Once out of its box, it was revealed to be far more in-keeping with the game’s actual setting: bleak, cold, and snowy. A two-tone design is something we don’t see much of in graphics cards, yet I think it works here pretty well.

It’s based on Sapphire’s Radeon RX 7700 XT 12GB, an all-white card available for around $430. The Frostpunk 2 version will be around $20 &ndash…

Senua’s Saga- Hellblade 2 is out on May 21-

During Microsoft’s Developer Direct event on Thursday, developer Ninja Theory announced Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is out May 21st.

“Senua is on the trail of the Vikings who’ve been enslaving her people,” says writer Lara Derham. That brings her to Iceland, where she’ll be fighting “giants who’ve plunged the lands into chaos, which in turns has seen the rise of the Draugr, which has swept through the settlements she’ll discover.”

The presentation for Senua’s Saga heavily emphasized all the technology behind the sequel’s “next level” presentation, including a new motion capture studio and immersive binaural audio. They also apparently had a blast going on several trips to Iceland to scout around to make Senua’s Saga as authentic as possible, which I’m not jealous about a…
